Mason Mount was a surprise absentee from Chelsea’s lineup yesterday, and it was even more surprising that he didn’t start once it was clear that Callum Hudson-Odoi wasn’t going to be fit to play.
He did eventually come once N’Golo Kante got injured, and he was one of the players who emerged with good credit from the game. It was his superb whipped cross from the right that Olivier Giroud headed in, only for the goal to be ruled offside.
After the game Mount went to every corner of Stamford Bridge to applaud the fans, a gesture which was picked up on video and widely praised by fans.
You can see the clip of the moment here:
After yesterday’s game, Mount went to each corner of the stadium clapping the remaining fans.
This guy oozes maturity and class.
If you’re still in that bracket of thinking it’s trendy to abuse him on twitter, then you’re quite simply not Chelsea. pic.twitter.com/MqHcoY6e5s
