Yesterday Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek took part in his first competitive match back since his long term achilles injury from last season.
A step forward for @rubey_lcheek today… 👍

He played for the Blues Development team in a behind-closed-doors friendly against a Brentford B team. Chelsea lost the match 2-0, but more importantly, Loftus-Cheek came through 60 minutes unscathed and looked very sharp in moments.
It will take a little while for him to totally find his feet and match fitness again, but already he is showing signs of mimicking last season with this impressive run and shot just wide in the match yesterday.
I fully expect the road to full recovery will be long and bumpy, but already seeing glimpses of pre-injury RLC is 🥰 pic.twitter.com/LHk8pNIBem
