Olivier Giroud spent the entire January transfer window looking like he was going to leave Chelsea, but in the end he was forced to stay put by our failure to sign any replacement.
He wasn’t in the squad at all for the game against Leicester today, and when asked why, manager Frank Lampard explained. He seemed to even be hinting at a fight, in the way that it would be good for them to have “a week away from each other.”
Maybe the Frenchman didn’t take the news he wasn’t leaving as well as we’d hoped?

🗣"He has had a few days of scrutiny. We all go away for a week away from each other which is probably what's needed.”
