Chelsea are finally closing in on making a signing, and the circumstances are very surprising.
Yesterday it was reported by Matt Law of The Telegraph that Chelsea had an offer rejected for Ajax attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech last month.
There was nothing to suggest this had happened at the time, and Blues fans moved on.
Then today, out of nowhere, it was reported by Dutch media that Chelsea have agreed a 45 million euro fee with Ajax to sign Ziyech in the summer.
This was quickly backed up by a number of other top sources, including Sky Sports.
Blues fans excitement turned into concern that this deal means no move for Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
However, in the same report from Sky, they claim that the move for Ziyech does not rule out a move for Sancho as well.
They urge fans to not rule out Jadon Sancho also moving to Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, claiming that Lampard has up to £150m to spend but clubs such as Liverpool and Manchester United also want Sancho.
