Chelsea’s Monday night Premier League match against Manchester United just became even more essential after the latest round of league results.
Arsenal easily beat Newcastle 4-0 at home and are starting to show signs of a late push, whilst even more worryingly, Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham have gotten themselves just one point behind Chelsea in the league now after a late winner against Aston Villa yesterday.
Sheffield United got their three points last weekend to also increase the pressure on Chelsea with a firm chase behind them.
Manchester United need the three points this evening to salvage any hope they have of a Champions League place, whilst Chelsea need to use this game in hand of Spurs and Sheffield United effectively and put more breathing space between them.
So far, Frank Lampard has been quite lucky with the chasing pack failing to capitlise. However, it looks like many of the sides are upping their game just in time for the league run in.
