“We all need this” – Tammy Abraham admits struggling Chelsea are desperate for a break

Tammy Abraham has done an incredible job overall this season, stepping up from the Championship to become the main striker of a Champions League team.

It’s not been easy, and he’s been struggling with a small goal drought in recent weeks, as well as an accumulation of knocks and bumps that come as part of the package of leading the line in the Premier League.

Speaking in quotes picked up by the Independent, the striker says he’s very keen on the “winter break” that the players have now, with two weeks to regenerate. It sounds like they need it:

“Mentally and physically, we all need this after a long, hard first few months of the season,” the target man said.

“It gets to the point where people start to get leggy and there are a few injuries coming. Now we can take time off and recover our bodies and our minds,” he concluded.

That’s a positive view on things, and we really hope that this break will allow our young players to come back with some of the energy they had in the early stages of the season.
