Chelsea are rocking after a devastating 2-0 defeat to Manchester on Monday Night Football, and it’s a game that has brought even more negatives than just the dropped points.
Callum Hudson-Odoi was ruled out injured before the game, and Frank Lampard’s injury update after the game hardly filled anyone with hope.
Simon Johnson of the Athletic had an update from the Chelsea boss after the game on Twitter, and it made for tough reading:
Lampard has told Fifth Stand App that he thinks #CFC defender Christensen suffered a broken nose tonight (in incident before the first goal). Says #Kante, #Pulisic and #HudsonOdoi won't be fit to face #THFC. #Abraham is just rated as a 'maybe'.

Lampard says Kante has suffered an abductor injury – "It doesn't look great." #CFC

Assuming Tammy is out, that means a swathe of options gone for Frank Lampard. One has to assume Olivier Giroud will start up front after Michy Batshuayi failed to do his bit today, with likely Pedro called into action again too.
That’s just not the kind of attacking lineup that’s going to scare teams.
In midfield, the lack of Kante is going to hurt too. He hasn’t been at his best recently, but he is still perhaps our best player on his day.
Christensen’s absence will likely mean Kurt Zouma back in the side too.
It’s going to be a very interesting team selection on Saturday.
