Jeremie Boga is not a “Chelsea flop”

The Premier League is taking a fortnight off as a “winter break”, meaning that plenty of fans are getting a chance to watch other leagues and catch up with other teams elsewhere.

One person who has benefited from this is Jeremie Boga, the winger who we sold to Sassuolo last summer after a successful loan.

His form has been superb, and we’re now being linked with an attempt to re-sign him. But sources like the Metro here insist on calling him a “Chelsea flop”, which is not an accurate representation of the situation at all.

Boga was a youth team star, and was the great hope of the academy for a while. He then got a first team chance under Antonio Conte, before it was cruelly ripped away from him after a red card in that game forced him to be subbed off early on.

This isn’t a player who flopped – he never even got the chance to flop or succeed.
