Chelsea put Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham to the sword for the second time this season, releasing the pressure after a very bad run.
Recently the stats cropping up around this team have been extremely negative – the number of games they’ve lost at home, and so on.
This time they conjured up a far more impressive one, as recorded by Simon Johnson of the Athletic.
You can see the impressive stat here:
First time #CFC have done League double over #THFC since Mourinho was in charge back in 2005-6. #Lampard #CHETOT

That’s a great record for any Blues manager, and one that will excuse a whole boat load of disappointing results. The results, and even the performances we’ve had against bigger teams this season have been our saving grace. If we can pick up a couple more in the next few weeks, everything will be looking rosy.
The tests only get tougher, with Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Man City all coming into play, but stats like this will be all the encouragement we need.
