There was some much welcomed news for Chelsea fans this afternoon when it was revealed that Ruben Loftus-Cheek had played his first competitive football for Chelsea since his achilles injury last year.
As confirmed by The Chelsea Twitter account, Loftus-Cheek played in a behind-closed-doors match for the Blues development squad against a Brentford B team.

They lost the game 2-0, but that is entirely irrelevant when hearing that the midfielder made it through 60 minutes of the match today, which is great for his rehabilitation back into playing.
