Frank Lampard ‘prioritising’ England international to replace under fire regular

The winter break has began, the January transfer window is over, so we all know what that means – extra drama in the media!

All the talk is surrounding Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, with the Spanish international being dropped for 38-year old Willy Caballero at the Leicester City match over the weekend.

Lampard is reportedly unhappy with Kepa and is unsure about him being Chelsea’s number one keeper for the coming years.

Kepa was allegedly ‘shocked’ by being dropped but has vowed to fight for his place in the first team line up.

However, according to The Daily Star, Lampard is already ‘prioritising’ England international goalkeeper Nick Pope to bring in this summer to replace Kepa.

27-year old Pope is the Burnley number one, but is reportedly liked by Lampard. Whilst Kepa’s former club Athletic Bilbao are apparently monitoring this situation and could offer him a route out of Chelsea and back to Spain.
