Frank Lampard gives full Chelsea injury rundown – Zouma and Giroud could come in

Frank Lampard doesn’t really want to talk about his team’s results right now, so in a way he’s lucky that their injury list and updates on the various players coming in and out of the treatment room takes up half of every press conference.

The Chelsea boss today reeled off so many that he forgot who he’d left out – Tammy Abraham as it turned out.

The headline news was this – N’Golo Kante out for three weeks at least. Christian Pulisic still out, with what he called a “difficult” injury. Tammy Abraham has been training on and off but clearly at full power. Andreas Christensen can play but has a mask.

Nobody even found out the status of Callum Hudson-Odoi, who vanished from the lineup on Monday night.

The squad is left depleted, and in playing half-fit Tammy or injured Christensen you risk everything backfiring. There’s surely a good chance Kurt Zouma and Olivier Giroud come into the team, having heard this update.
