“Clear message to the board” – These Chelsea fans believe Lampard’s selections are aimed at hierarchy

Chelsea drew 2-2 away against Leicester City today in the lunchtime kick off in the Premier League.

The Blues were lucky in the end to survive with a point, with Leicester missing two easy chances in the second half. With that said, Chelsea played well in the first half and should have been 2-0 up early on, so the draw is probably a fair result.

However, one of the major talking points after the game was some of the bizarre selection choices from manager Frank Lampard.

It’s obvious from his words in recent interviews that he isn’t entirely pleased with the boards lack of signings during the January transfer window.

He chose to start with Pedro today despite his abysmal last performance, as well as starting an injured Tammy Abraham, leaving no place in the squad for Olivier Giroud.

Then near the end of the match, he decided against bringing Michy Batshuayi on for Abraham, but instead bought Ross Barkley on leaving them with no recognised striker on the pitch!

These Blues fans believe it was a clear message to the board for not giving him any signings…
