The news has been well received among Chelsea fans, but there’s a wide acknowledgement that this team needs a lot more than just one addition.
Left back is a priority spot for reinforcement, with both of the current supposed options well out of favour with Frank Lampard now.
We’ve been linked to numerous players in that position, but according to Kaveh Solhekol’s column on Sky Sports.com Chelsea know who they want already – Leicester’s Ben Chilwell.
“Chelsea do want another left-back and he would be their No 1 choice,” the transfer guru writes on their site, having outlined the situation as it stands in that position.
That doesn’t surprise us at all. The rumours have been pushing the Foxes player in our direction for some time now, and the weight of them seems to add credence to the belief he will be making a big money move this summer.
