Chelsea’s hands forced in permanent sales of loan players

As reports broke yesterday that FIFA’s new ruling on loan players comes into play from next season, the reality kicked in that Chelsea will finally need to sell some of their serial loan players.

They announced that the new rules will limit the number of loans each club is allowed to make, with only 8 permitted next season for over 22 year old players loaned outside England, reducing to 6 players in 2022/23.

The below is just a selection of players on loan from Chelsea who are over the age of 22.

Chelsea will already be moving to put plans in place to make sure they adhere to the new ruling from football’s governing body, and they will be looking to negotiate permanent sales of players such as Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Victor Moses, and Kenedy this summer.

It will be that, or bring them back into the first team squad, and I can see that being far from a reality!
