Chelsea’s best young talent told to change positions

Chelsea’s most impressive young player is perhaps Reece James, the dangerous right back who tore up youth football, then Wigan on loan last season, and is now terrorising Premier League defences with the Blues.

Despite that, one of the best players in the country right now is Trent Alexander-Arnold, who plays in James’ position with aplomb for Liverpool and for England.

Frank Sinclair, who played for Chelsea, has suggested that the Reds player is so good it might prompt James to switch positions to get a chance in the England side.

“If I was Reece James, I might be clever and try and to start playing centre half or something because Trent Alexander is going to be a hard man to lodge out of that position the way that he’s playing at the moment,” Football.London quote Sinclair as saying.

We’re not sure how serious he’s being. Reece is a superb defender with a physique that would allow him to play in the centre easily, but that would be to limit his staggering ability going forward.

That’s his greatest asset, and he needs to be put in a position where he can make the most of it. The battle between him and TAA could be an epic one.
