In what turned out to be a total dud January – especially for Chelsea – one fun plotline we were enjoying following was AC Milan’s pursuit of Wigan’s Antonee Robinson.
It’s not every day you hear about European giant trying to big for an English player in the Championship, that’s for sure. Unfortunately the move fell through at the last minute, and the footballing world at large felt pity for the left back, whose dream move came so close to being completed.
But he shouldn’t be too downhearted. The Daily Mirror now claim that Chelsea are among the club keeping an eye on him, and this summer will surely see him step up to the top division.
Reece James stole all the plaudits last season down the right, but Robinson was doing great work on the left, and that’s only continued this campaign.
Maybe we’ll see them reunited on the flanks at Stamford Bridge next season.
