Chelsea players and coaches have enjoyed having the last week off playing and training, in the Premier League’s first winter break.
Many of the guys have been away in various exotic destinations, sunning it up or enjoying the culture.
The break would have been appreciated, a chance to recharge the batteries, reflect, and prepare to tackle the second half of the season, and push for the required top four position in order to gain Champions League football.
The start to that is a huge game that occurs a week today against Manchester United, who are 6 points behind Chelsea in 8th place in the league.
It’s looking very tight already though, and a number of teams could still gain that last top 4 spot, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Leicester City being quite far away from the chasing pack already.
Chelsea are likely to report back to full training today to begin preparations to play what has become a must win match, after Sheffield United got to within 2 points of Chelsea in 5th place after their win yesterday.
