Chelsea have been very inefficient in the transfer market in recent years, wasting money on average players and letting real talents go too cheap.
They may have learned their lessons though, as we noticed with the way they included a buy-back clause in Jeremie Boga’s contract when he left on a permanent move last summer.
He’s now tearing up Serie A with Sassuolo, and according to SportWitness’ translated reports from Italy, we’re not going to make the same mistake again.
According to them, we’re going to activate our €15m clause to bring the winger back onto our books, and then sell him on again to one of th e bigger teams who are interested.
Hopefully, that leaves everyone happy. We make more money, Sassuolo get €15m, and Boga upgrades to a bigger team.
Some would like to see us give him another chance in our team, but these reports make that seem unlikely.
