Chelsea pursuit of £63m Real Madrid man sounds unlikely despite rumours

Chelsea have once again been linked with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Isco.

The Blues have only just confirmed the signing of attacking wide man Hakim Ziyech from Ajax, but according to the Sun they are looking for further upgrades in the creative engine of the team.

Isco has been in and out of the team at Real Madrid in the last couple of seasons, finding himself out in the cold and then back in Zinedine Zidane’s plans again as the French manager looks to find the right formula again.

Manchester City and Arsenal are also apparently looking into the costs of buying the former Malaga man. £63m is the sum that the Sun name as his asking price, but it’s hard to see anyone paying that much for a 27 year old.

If he truly does become available as a bargain buy, it’s easy to see Chelsea making a move. But if they’re asking £50m+, as they are now, it’s very hard to see it working.
