Chelsea linked with top European goalkeeper for €40m “starting point”

Chelsea are in pole position to sign a goalkeeper this summer, and the man they’re chosen is Andre Onana of Ajax.

That according to SportWitness, who have various details from Spain translated into English.

Among them is the price – said to be around €40m. And the fact that Chelsea are, as they put it “main favourite” to sign him.

The Spanish links come from Barcelona’s interest, and while we have no doubt that the player trained in Johan Cruyff’s old house would make a great addition to Barca, the fact they already have one of the world’s best in Marc Andre Ter Stegen in goal might make Onana fancy a route to the first team at Chelsea a little more.

Here he can come in and compete with the out of form and rather unpopular Kepa, rather than sitting on the bench at the Nou Camp.

This is still in the early stages of a rumour, but we expect it to grow as the summer approaches.
