Chelsea have joined the battle for Jude Bellingham, according to a report in the Sun.
The tabloid have linked the Birmingham wonderkid to Frank Lampard’s side, claiming they’ve joined a host of other sides including Manchester United in the race for the 16 year old.
He’s one of the biggest prospects in English football at the moment, and Chelsea will have been aware of him for some time. Now he’s establishing himself as a first team player in the Championship he’s increasingly looking like the subject of a big money summer switch to a top level team.
There’s no question Chelsea will be keen on signing him, the question is how much they’re willing to pay. Every side in the top flight will be pitching their offer, and it will be up to the precocious youngster to make the decision that’s right for him.
Let’s hope Lampard’s youth revolution can tempt him to Stamford Bridge.
