Chelsea should consider trying to land former boss’ 20 year old defensive talent

Chelsea appointed Andre Villas-Boas when he was the hottest young manager in Europe, dominating with a strong Porto side and looking like the new Jose Mourinho.

In the end it didn’t work out, and the Portuguese has had a funny career since, bouncing around Europe and Asia – and the Dakar rally.

Now he’s back in the top leagues with Marseille however, and he’s got them playing some really good stuff.

One of his key players has been Boubacar Kamara, the central defender who has racked up 22 appearances in Ligue 1 this season as the club from the South Coast have battled their way up to second behind PSG.

His efforts at the back have been mightily impressive for a player who is just 20 years old, and Chelsea could do a lot worse than stealing the youngster away from their old boss in this summer window.

He’s left footed, a quality this team desperately needs in its central defenders, and is technically sound as well as tough-tackling.
