Lots of Chelsea fans both on social media and around Stamford Bridge have been BEGGING Frank Lampard to play Fikayo Tomori recently, and they got their wish today.
Antonio Rudiger was dropped for the game against Bournemouth, with Tomori replacing him to play in a back three alongside Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen.
It certainly didn’t work out as hoped, and the youngster looked nervy after so long out of the team. Hopefully a few more starts will see him pick up a little more, because playing like this he was a liability.
Some of the more blunt commenters said it would be “back to the bench” for Fikayo, and while it seems harsh, they’re probably not wrong. At the moment Frank Lampard just can’t work out which players to put in the middle of his defence, and none of them are taking the opportunity.

Play Tomori, play Tomori.
I want to genuinely believe he's just rusty. We move!
Another proper Chelsea day.

Tomori had some shaky moments but grew into the game Azpilicueta excellent in the LCB position later on might become his eventual position in the future #BOUCHE
