“Anything can happen in football” – Chelsea vice-captain keen to focus on upcoming matches

The only thing that Chelsea players and supporters can do after last night’s heavy Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich is move on and look forward.

It was a night to forget, and that is exactly what they will all be doing right now.

There is the Premier League chase for fourth place in order to qualify for the same competition next season, and also the FA Cup to focus on.

Chelsea will be looking to bounce straight back against Bournemouth in the league at the weekend, and then they are still in for a shout of silverware next Tuesday in the FA Cup, although they do have the huge task of knocking Liverpool out!

But The Blues vice-captain Jorginho believes that anything can happen in football, and they must focus on what is ahead of them, including going to Munich for the second leg of last night’s thrashing.

As reported by Four Four Two, Jorginho said:

“It is really tough for the changing room, for us, but we have the other competitions and we still have the second leg.

“Anything can happen in football, you never know.

“We just have to believe in ourselves, and not put our heads down. We need to keep working, keep pushing, because we are a good team.

“We need to believe, work hard and be together.”
