West Ham hoping Chelsea player will push for move after rejected enquiry

West Ham boss David Moyes is looking to add some quality to his squad during this months transfer window before tackling the rest of the season, and he has been knocking hard on the door of Mr Frank Lampard.

Yesterday, The Daily Mirror reported that Moyes had made an enquiry to Chelsea regarding the potential availability of taking midfielder Ross Barkley on loan this month.

However, this was swiftly denied by Chelsea.

Today, the same publication claim that Moyes is not giving up on his chase for the England international, and hopes that the chance of regular first team football might make him ask Chelsea for the move.

Barkley has mainly been a bit-part player this season under Lampard, often missing out to the likes of Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount.

He has played the last couple of games though and played very well. But even still, with the amount of competition in Chelsea’s midfield, and the Euros fast approaching, Barkley may see it wise to ask for the move.
