West Ham boss makes comment on potential Ross Barkley transfer

West Ham have been linked with bids for Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley in the last few days, but in his press conference their manager David Moyes straight batted all questions about the potential signing.

Not wanting to allow anyone anything to go on, the former Everton boss also very clearly didn’t rule anything out either.

The Hammers want to make reinforcements in January with their new boss in place, and Barkley seems the perfect candidate. A big enough name for the Hammers, he’s also not playing a huge amount at Chelsea. He could go to East London and possibly be a star of the team under the manager who gave him his break in the senior game at Everton.

Whether or not that ends up happening, Moyes isn’t giving anything away:

“Anything which we think will improve our side I will be interested to bring in,” he uttered non-specifically in quotes carried by Football.London.

“It’s not easy to get British players. Maybe easier to get a Premier League player or from abroad but still trying to get the right ones in is important,” he went on.

“We are working on two or three things at the moment but we are not close to anything. One thing I won’t do is not talk about players at other clubs,” he concluded.
