Sky Sports Reporter suggests Jovic and Piatek are options for Chelsea this window

Chelsea are looking to sign a striker this window, but as we enter the last weekend of January, they might need to step up that search a little!

All the talk has been about a potential move for Edinson Cavani from PSG, and Moussa Dembele from Lyon. Lampard has confirmed that there have been talks with Cavani, but the Dembele stories are not true.

Cavani is of course wanted by Atletico Madrid as well, so it’s unclear where he will go as yet.

So if he goes there, where next for Chelsea?

Sky Sports transfer news reporter Kaveh Solhekol believes there are other options for Chelsea this window.

He has mentioned Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic as being an option, as well as AC Milan’s Krzysztof Piatek.

Both players could be available at least on a loan deal this window as both search for more regular game time with the Euro’s approaching this summer.

Solhekol, as reported by The Daily Star, said:

“The other really interesting one is Krzysztof Piatek, we’ve mentioned him before.

“He scored 30 goals last season in Italy, his father’s been talking this week, his father’s basically saying my son is too good to be sitting on the bench for AC Milan, he wants to be playing regularly, he’s going to be playing for Poland at the Euros in the summer, he doesn’t want to be a sub.

“He, his father, believe there are clubs in England willing to pay €30m to sign him from AC Milan, that is £25m, so he’s an option.

“The other interesting option is Luka Jovic. He’s a player that last summer went from Eintracht Frankfurt to Real Madrid for £60m.

“He’s only scored once this season and Real Madrid are willing to let him leave, so he’s another option for English teams this month as well.”
