“Score and assist, and defend too” – Conor Gallagher explains his strengths as he joins Swansea

It’s been a whirlwind season for Conor Gallagher, who just a year ago was one of the less feted academy prospects.

After a good season still in the juniors, he took a loan to the Championship with Charlton this season.

He made an instant impact, scoring goals and making himself into a key player for Lee Bowyer’s men. He’s done so well that Chelsea have just recalled him from the struggling Addicks, and sent him instead to Swansea.

The midfielder’s quotes on joining the Welsh side are recorded by @ChelseaLoanArmy on Twitter below:

We hope that he’s been promised starts. He was playing every minute of the season for Charlton and if he ends up on the bench now for his new club that would be a disaster.

On the other hand, they’re fighting for promotion, and playing football on another level, and the potential benefits for Gallagher’s development are clear.
