Frank Lampard has been pushing Callum Hudson-Odoi back into the spotlight recently, with the injury to Christian Pulisic, as well as the American’s fading form, allowing the young winger more chances than usual.
The last two games he’s really taken advantage, scoring and assisting against Nottingham Forest in the cup last weekend, and then notching his first Premier League goal today against Burnley.
Lampard’s words were picked up by the club’s official Twitter account after the game:
Lampard: 'This was the real Callum Hudson-Odoi today and what he can be.' The boss praises the teenager's performance and says he is more pleased to see him score from inside the six-yard box than a 30-yard screamer as it shows the work he is putting in.#CHEBUR

You can tell just form his tone how happy he is to see the 19 year old kicking on at last after a bad injury that really held him back. Lampard deserves a lot of credit too, for the way he’s gradually reintroduced the youth to the first team.
Hopefully Callum can continue to build on this form. We may be making a signing to compete with him in January, so this spurt has come just at the right time.
