“People need to do their job” – Lampard knows where blame lies for unforgivable breakaway

Chelsea conceded a goal to Arsenal on the break today, in a fashion which as really unforgivable.

We had a corner, and managed to concede from it. Not something you see very often, apart from maybe when a team is chasing a goal in the final seconds and sends everyone up.

There were two reasons – one was N’Golo Kante’s crucial slip, but the other was the fact that he was alone against two Arsenal players.

Frank Lampard, speaking after the game in quotes carried by Football.London, revealed that someone who was supposed to be back with him had derelicted their duty.

“It was on the edge of the box where was the problem,” the Chelsea boss pointed out, before adding pointedly:

“People need to do their job.”

It’s not certain who that player is, some have speculated Emerson, but we can see whoever it is will be in trouble with his manager. This one moment really coloured the whole game, and we’ve missed out on two valuable points.
