We all know Mateo Kovacic is a class dribbler, and now we’ve got the evidence.
The Croatian midfielder is a true all round player, capable of running, passing and even shooting – on occasion.
His ability to run with the ball is most special however, and for a central midfielder he truly has the grace and trickery of a winger. In his number 17 shirt, you can easily confuse him for an early-era Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge.
Success rate of players to attempt at least 50 dribbles in the Premier League:
🤩 Best – Mateo Kovacic (84.1%)
😬 Worst – Daniel James (40%) pic.twitter.com/IgR8jCOCbg

WhoScored published the stat above today, showing just how far ahead of the competition Kovacic is. His dribble success rate of 84.1% is just sensational, especially when you compare it to Man U’s big summer signings, wonder winger Daniel James (40%).
We will need him to keep it up, and after a game sitting on the bench last time out, he will be desperate to get on the ball again when we take on Newcastle this weekend.
