Lampard identifies how Chelsea can start beating smaller sides at home again

Chelsea are playing Burnley at home this weekend, a fixture which you might consider a real banker. One where you can add the three points to the Premier League table in your mind before kick off.

Not now. Chelsea are on a dire run at home, especially against weaker teams, and this match looks a classic one to trip us up.

Asked about what had gone wrong with his team in similar fixtures before Christmas, Frank Lampard was very clear over what they needed to do better to ensure these games went back to being sure things. Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com had the quotes from the presser:

He’s not wrong, we really did just need to take some chances to change those games. The problem is that not taking chances can’t just be put down to bad luck – as Lampard says, there’s more to it than that.

Bad luck might give you an Everton, but the West Ham, the Southampton, the Brighton… it can’t explain them all away. We can’t wait to see what he’s been working on in training – or just to see a bit of luck fall in our favour.
