Frank Lampard was very quiet on transfer for the first 8 or so months of his managerial career. Perhaps that’s not surprising, given we had a ban on making any signings.
But even as January got closer, he kept steady on his line of “I don’t talk about other clubs’ players.”
The last week has seen a significant shift however. After speaking in detail about how much he likes Edinson Cavani the last time he faced the media, Lampard spoke directly about Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumaré.
In quotes picked up by Goal.com writer Nizaar Kinsella, Lampard confirmed that he’s “aware of” the talented young midfielder, but also ruled out the chance of signing him in the next week:
