Kepa’s historic struggles as he ranks 127 out of 135 in all of Europe

Kepa Arrizabalaga is having a very tricky season.

He’s had some very poor games and let in some very soft goals, to the point that his future in the team is seriously up for debate in some quarters.

The stats seem to back up what we’re seeing on the pitch. The Sun today have the amazing statistic that the Basque is “127th out of 135 keepers in Europe.”

We’re not sure where those stats come from, but he’s certainly got one of the worst in the Premier League. Today he was partly at fault again, the late header from Isaac Hayden coming through him after a great ball flighted in from the wing.

An alternative is urgently needed, and each game probably sees it rise up the list of priorities rapidly for those upstairs at the club. Willy Caballero is an able backup, but he’s not of the standard to really compete and play week in week out.

Add it to the shopping list. The situation is getting critical.
