Harry Kane limped off in Tottenham’s game a couple of weeks ago, and it was this evening revealed that he’d had surgery on his hamstring and would miss almost all of the remaining season.
It’s a devastating blow to Spurs, and a huge boost for us as we battle them for a Champions League spot.
But in one way, it does make our life potentially more difficult.

Jose Mourinho was already complaining about a lack of strikers in last week’s FA Cup tie, and he will now be demanding a forward as top priority for this window.
Of course whoever they get will likely need to sit on the bench and back up Kane come the end of the season, so they are likely to be in the market for a veteran stop gap to back up their main man – just like Chelsea.
They could end up coming after the same targets as us, just as they did with Fernando Llorente in a similar situation a couple of years ago.
