Impressive Hudson-Odoi stat shows things were never as bad as they looked

Football is a game of perceptions.

After a few good games last season, Callum Hudson-Odoi was the future of English football. He then got injured, missed half a year, and had some bad games on his return.

Suddenly, he was then useless, and not ready for top flight football yet according to some.

He scored and assisted at the weekend against Nottingham Forest, allowing this interesting stat to be wheeled out.

Now that’s a record. Maybe we all need to get a bit of perspective. A few quiet games in a row had people writing him off, when in fact a slight addition of perspective, and one good game, has put him right back on track with this pretty amazing statistic.

A few more games like the one yesterday and the world will be bowing at his feet again, just like they were 12 months ago.
