Gallagher “split” on leaving Charlton despite interest from 6 clubs

Conor Gallagher is not sure whether to stay at Charlton Athletic for the rest of this season, with interest from 6 other clubs in taking over his loan.

That’s according to Football.London, who name the 6 as Glasgow Rangers of the SPL, Burnley and Norwich of the Premier League, and West Brom, Millwall and Swansea of the Championship.

They say that the midfielder is “split” on the decision, having settled in very nicely at the Valley. Charlton are struggling as a newly promoted team, but Gallagher is enjoying playing for Lee Bowyer and is getting 90 minutes every week.

He could certainly upgrade to a bigger club at a higher level this January, but will he be guaranteed as many minutes anywhere else? We’re keen to see him make the most of this year and play at the best possible level, but sitting on the bench at Norwich or wherever won’t help anyone.

There’s always next year. For now, we reckon he should keep this good run going in London.
