Frank Lampard’s press conference today had plenty of interesting nuggets to pick out, and with the January window now in full effect, that included plenty of transfer news.
The journos out there have got wise to the watch that Lampard won’t say anything about incoming players, as they belong to other clubs. But it’s a lot easier to get him chatting about outgoing Blues.
That included Olivier Giroud, who seems to have one foot out of the door already, and more interestingly – Andreas Christensen. Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com had the full quotes:
I asked Lampard if he can rule out selling Andreas Christensen after he was linked to AC Milan in this window and he pretty emphatically said; "yes." He seems to be a fan but did note he needs to get better on the physical side of his job. #CFC

That’s comforting for a lot of fans, who didn’t want to see the 23 year old let go. AC Milan were reportedly interested, but plenty still see the potential in him and don’t want to see him become the new Kevin de Bruyne.
In any case, Lampard has ruled it out, and interestingly has pointed to the physical side of Christensen’s game as an area he needs to improve in as part of the same answer.
Talk about having your work cut out for you. Your boss has told you exactly what he wants. Get yourself in the gym, AC!
