Edinson Cavani left out of PSG squad as transfer appears to get closer

Edinson Cavani has been left out of the PSG squad for their game today against Lille in Ligue 1.

The Parisians face a tough test to try and break further away at the top of Ligue 1, but they think they can do without the 32 year old hitman in this game, and perhaps going forward.

It had been reported just 4 days ago by the Times that Chelsea had made an offer for the Uruguayan, looking to take him on loan for the rest of the season. While it does involve paying his monstrous wages, it’s certainly a plausible idea.

The way Frank Lampard spoke about him in the press conference before the Arsenal game was revealing too. He clearly likes the idea of having the top pro around.

The fact he’s out of the squad today means he’s close to a move. Whether it’s Chelsea or not, it looks like we’ll find out soon enough.
