“I don’t have any problem, I adjust as quickly as possible” – Azpi discusses amazing versatility

Chelsea’s defence has been in flux all season, with Frank Lampard switching to a back five, then a back four, then back again, with all manner of different combinations of players being used.

Recently we saw an in-game change against Arsenal, where Cesar Azpilicueta moved to left back after half an hour. He then started there against Brighton yesterday.

Asked after the game about what it’s like to be shunted around constantly, the versatile captain insisted, as you’d expect, that he didn’t mind, and would do anything to help the team.

“I don’t have any problem,” the Spaniard responded when asked about whether he was affected by the endless shifting.

“I just try to adjust as quickly as possible.”

He never really shows any ill effect from the changes in position, and it’s in fact become a vital asset for the team.

Three cheers for our versatile captain!
