Chelsea’s reported move for Moussa Dembele may become easier after latest developments

Chelsea have been targeting a move to sign Lyon striker Moussa Dembele this window according to a number of reliable reports, including The Guardian.

Frank Lampard allegedly wants reinforcements in attack following his concerns of his current crop being unable to break teams down and finish chances.

The Dembele move was played down by both Lampard and Lyon publicly within the last couple of weeks, making many believe that any deal would not happen.

However, as is always the case during these transfer windows, it is always best to take what players, manager, agents, and owners say with a large pinch of salt.

Chelsea may well have received a boost in their Dembele pursuit though, with Lyon looking like they are about to spend 20 million euros on a new striker.

According to L’Equipe, Lyon have found an agreement with Villarreal for the transfer of striker Karl Toko Ekambi.

This might free up Demebele potentially moving away from the club, despite their insistence to keep him.
