The Daily Mirror are today reporting that new West Ham boss David Moyes wants to sing Ross Barkley this January.
The former Everton manager gave the midfielder his debut on Merseyside, and has since struggled to fulfill that immense early potential. He’s mad ea couple of good contributions in the last year or so, but can’t hold down a starting spot at Stamford Bridge.
It’s a move we can see him being interested in, and West Ham are always looking for big names to add. It might work out for all parties, especially with Chelsea looking to make some major additions of their own.
On the other hand, we saw in the game against Burnley that Barkley still has a role to play under Lampard, who may well feel he needs to keep him around.
Unless there is a very tempting offer – and a very tempting replacement available – it’s hard to see Lampard jumping at this offer.
