Why Chelsea links to former world class striker won’t go away

Chelsea’s links to Edinson Cavani just aren’t going away.

Perhaps it’s just because the PSG star is a big enough name to bring the interest and the clicks to the tabloids, and maybe even shift a few physical copies, but whatever the reason these rumours won’t go away

Today it’s the turn of The Sun to carry the torch for the chit chat, and they say that Jose Mourinho is also heavily targeting the hitman to replace Harry Kane, who could miss the rest of the season.

That seems much more feasible than him coming to Chelsea. We can’t see Frank Lampard dropping Tammy Abraham, not when he’s scoring for fun, and we also can’t see the Uruguay legend being happy sitting on the bench behind a player who’s still internationally a relative unknown.

So the Spurs links have more weight to them, and it seems like we’re just being dragged along for the ride – and some clicks.
