Chelsea ‘increasingly unlikely’ to re-sign former player

There have been a large number of players linked with a potential move to Chelsea during this window, but a lot of the stories have just faded out as rumours.

But there has been one story that has always been simmering away, and that is the possibility of The Blues resigning their former defender Nathan Ake back from Bournemouth.

Chelsea inserted a £40 million buyback clause in his contract when they sold him to Bournemouth and reportedly, this is their final chance to use this option before it expires.

The Sun believe that Andreas Christensen committing his future to Chelsea and Frank Lampard ruling out selling him, will mean that any deal involving Ake going to Chelsea, has become ‘increasingly unlikely’.

The publication believed that Ake would only ever join Chelsea in the first place, if Christensen was sold.

So this deal looks like one that will also be fading out as we enter the third week of the transfer window.
