As we enter the 8th day of the January transfer window we are no clearer as to whom Chelsea might be signing, if anyone.
Of course the rumours have been rife for the last few months, and they heated up even more when it was announced that Chelsea would be able to sign players again during the winter window.
One player who seems a dead cert target is Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, and as reported by The Sun, Chelsea are readying a £40 million plus Olivier Giroud offer for his services.
Giroud has become out of favour under Frank Lampard this season and the Chelsea manager is hoping to ease the burden on Tammy Abraham by bringing former Fulham and Celtic front man Dembele to Stamford Bridge.
Lyon have publicly stated that they are not willing to sell their striker, so this is a saga that could go on for a bit longer yet.
