Chelsea so far refusing West Ham loan enquiry for England international

As reported late last night by The Daily Mirror, West Ham want to take Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley on loan until the end of the season.

David Moyes is keen to reunite with the player whom he helped progress through the ranks when he was managing Everton.

He now hopes that an offer of regular first team football will be too good to turn down.

However, that would involve Chelsea accepting the deal, and according to the same report, they are ‘so far refusing’ any offers for the England international.

They insist that Barkley remains an important part of their first team plans.

This is a deal that seems highly unlikely, unless of course Chelsea decided to add a new midfielder to their own first team squad this summer, and there has been some links.

But with the winter transfer window entering the halfway period, any deals will need to be actioned sooner rather than later.
