Chelsea earn another minor boost with news that Arsenal star won’t be available

Arsenal have been dealt another blow to their chances against us next week with the news that Pierre Emerick Aubemeyang’s appeal to the FA to reduce his three match ban for a straight red card has failed.

The striker went in hard on Max Meyer when his team took on Crystal Palace in their last game, over the top of the ball, catching Meyer’s leg in a nasty fashion.

Simon Collings of the Evening Standard Tweeted the following this afternoon to confirm the appeal had been dismissed:

Unsurprisingly, the FA have not taken long to dismiss the idea that PEA deserves anything less than three games out for a frankly dangerous challenge.

Yes it wasn’t with the full force of the body, but it was well beyond the realms of “reckless” and into the realms of “dangerous”, so he can’t have many complaints.

So their best striker will be out. No excuses for Frank and the boys now.
