Chelsea have ‘a decision to make’ before Friday that could save at least £2.5 million

The Chelsea board and chief negotiators could be quite busy this week with a few deals and decisions to be concluded as we enter the final days of the January transfer window.

Chelsea being Chelsea, love to leave everything to the last minute, which is really not wise.

Olivier Giroud has agreed personal terms for his move to Inter, as reported by The Athletic, but that move is yet to be concluded and could be reliant on Chelsea bringing in their own striker first.

So that is a couple of deals that could potentially need to be sorted within these 4/5 days.

Then The Athletic have thrown another potential decision to be made in these final days, suggesting that Spanish winger Pedro could also leave before Friday.

The veteran winger has become a bit part option at Chelsea and is a player in vast decline. But as the publication explains, it might be wise for the club to let him go now, instead of allowing his contract to run down to the summer when he will go on a free.

This way they can possibly ask for a small transfer fee, as well as get £2.5 million worth of wages off their books. Pedro has offers from Inter Miami, plus clubs in China and Spain.
