Chelsea board let down pro who has never complained

It looks as if Chelsea’s transfer window is all but ended, that’s according to manager Frank Lampard anyway, who says that the window for them is 95% shut in his lunchtime press conference.

He also confirmed that striker Olivier Giroud will stay at the club, despite being linked to a number of moves away.

The France international will feel aggrieved by this, and his place in the France Euro 2020 squad will now be at stake if he continues to miss out on game time at Chelsea.

Chelsea failed to bring in a replacement, and as a result failed a player who has been nothing but a model professional since joining from Arsenal, and has never once moaned about his situation this season.

He has been a massive part of Chelsea’s success over the last couple of seasons most notably being the star man to win the Europa League last season against his former club.

I, like many other Chelsea fans, feel genuinely sorry for the guy now.
